This Lord Kitchener Alumni cash award, in the amount of $500, acknowledges school and community engagement by an alumnus of Lord Kitchener Elementary School. The funding for this award is allocated annually by the Lord Kitchener Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). Each applicant will be assessed in three different areas: 1. Participation in, and contribution to their school community 2. Participation in, and contribution to the larger community 3. A written submission that will be the basis for an oral presentation for the winning recipient ALL APPLICANTS MUST: 1. Be an alumnus of Lord Kitchener Elementary School, having attended for a minimum of three years, not necessarily consecutively. 2. Be in Grade 12. 3. Complete an application form, describing both school and community activities participated in during high school. 4. Submit statement** of 300 words or less describing what the applicant would say to a Grade 7 class to inspire them, drawing on personal experience. **This written statement is the basis for an oral presentation the successful candidate will present to this year’s Grade 7 class. This presentation may take the form of a video recording to be posted on the Lord Kitchener Elementary school and PAC websites, or it may be in-person.
